Advisory Reports

An Advisory Report is a companion document to a Display Energy Certificate (DEC). It provides practical recommendations to improve a building’s energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.

While a DEC gives a building an efficiency rating based on past energy use, the Advisory Report identifies opportunities for improvement, helping organisations reduce their carbon footprint.

Who Needs an Advisory Report?

  • Public buildings over 1,000m² (Required by law, valid for 7 years)
  • Buildings between 250m² and 1,000m² (Required by law, valid for 10 years)
  • Private sector businesses looking to improve energy efficiency

What Does an Advisory Report Include?
